A long time ago, before recorded history on E'bahn, when the world was born, seven beings came into existence. Known as the Eternals, six of these beings would shape and create the world itself, while the seventh would take a path that would lead to his eternal condemnation. Though the six remain known and revered, the seventh has been forgotten by the common masses—his name lost to time. Once, he was called Sem, the God of Creation, Destiny, and Time.
In his curiosity and creative drive, Sem crafted two beings unlike anything the other Eternals had made—the first Demon, Gnunga, and the first Devil, Haddru. Shaped from the most primitive of materials—mud, fire, and lightning—these creatures were initially thought to be minor curiosities. For a time, the other Eternals and Sem himself ignored their existence. However, these beings proved to be far more dangerous than expected. They began to birth their own armies in massive numbers—Gnunga forming The Flame, a chaotic and destructive domain, and Haddru establishing The Circle, a realm of cold, infernal tyranny.
As these armies grew and threatened the balance of the world, fear crept into the hearts of the six Eternals. Sem, as their creator, bore the responsibility of containing them. Using his divine power, he attempted to imprison them, but their strength exceeded his control. The six, fearful of what these creations could become—and of Sem's inability to manage them—turned against their own. A horrible plot was drafted as they ripped the Eternal apart.
Sem's body was sundered and became the foundation of the prisons meant to contain his unruly progeny. The Circle and The Flame were forged from his essence—an eternal, inescapable prison to hold Haddru and Gnunga. Yet even these realms could not fully contain their power. To ensure no escape would be possible, the Eternals crafted a key from Sem's severed hand, the very hand that had brought these abominations into existence. This item would be known as 'Sem's Damnation' and would be a coveted item that many factions upon Gonius would conspire for. It would manage the 13 doors upon Onius, and would be the sacrifice necessary on Gehen.
Stripped of his identity and power, Sem no longer exists as a conscious being—his essence forever bound to the infernal and demonic realms. With his fall, the seven became six, and his name faded from memory. While other gods—such as the False Gods—would rise in later ages, the Eternals remain the true architects of existence, their dominion unshaken. Yet the key to The Circle and The Flame remains hidden, a dangerous reminder that the prison doors are not permanently sealed.
